Terrible customer service. I did not have any luck with the person we hired through them. Unfortunately for us, seems she only wanted an easy babysitting job with good pay. I forgot that my monthly subscription was ending and they billed me for another month. I communicated to them on the very day that they billed me that I did not want to continue for a another month with the service and would they please refund me the money they had just charged me. After 3 emails back and forth they told me that there was nothing they could do and I would not get a refund. So they charged me for services not used. Very terrible customer service and PR.

I used the service as a caregiver and had relatively good success. However, I canceled my subscription and eventually got a promotional offer to get 3 months of premium for $10/month.
They charged me for the 3 months in January, then in February proceeded to charge me the full fee for premium. And every month after.
In May I canceled my membership once I realized what was going on and in June they still charged me.
I contacted their "support" which is extremely hard to locate, and they told me they have no record of any transaction for me after November 2020! I'm now in a lengthy dispute, since it's 4/5 days between responses from them.
The site is clunky, difficult to use, and if you're a caregiver its impossible to search for other caregivers like a babysitter for my son.
Stay far far away!
No service whatsoever, no follow up.The so called candidates never respond. I doubt of their existence!
The people you work for get mad at you for any reason then care.com kicks you off there site for no reason... a lot if care giver loose jobs became these employers make them mad... care.com should investgate a little better. Maybe turn care.com into the better business.
Upon replying, I was prompted to pay for membership, which I did. Upon upgrading, it NEVER went foward, it remained on the page, I tried refreshing, still nothing, but every time I clicked on Upgrade, I kept getting notification that I was getting charged. What the hell is this?
Terrible company to work for. They don't care about their employees. They say it is flexible hours but they expect everyone to be available for a certain amount of hours a week! When a family books you, you don't even get a chance to accept or decline it!
I posted a job and had 5 people apply, I messaged all of them back in less than 24 hours and then got absolutely nothing back. I sent a customer service request to see how I am able to verify my messages are being received as it seems strange that 5 would actually apply then get no response when I responded back about speaking with them further and for references. The response I got from customer service email was that care.com is that they are not responsible for matching me with a caregiver and that members take positions based on their availability. They did not address my concerns about whether or not my messages are going through. They post on their site that if I do not respond to applicants they will close my job posting so they can clearly monitor this stuff and when I try to call the phone number just refers you to the website then disconnects you. I also noticed that when I go to the tab for post job and view my closed jobs there is a posting in there that isn’t even mine. This is a terrible service.
BEWARE !!! Care.com is a huge rip-off. They charge your credit card account instantly and then give you access to a list of potential caregivers who supposedly “match” your requirements. What they don’t tell you is that most of them are already employed and are unavailable. After contacting too many “matches” over many days we received one response. Sadly she was not a good match for our requirements. Apparently Care.com will not refund subscriptions so YOUR MONEY IS GONE - WASTED!! IT’S A HUGE SCAM!
Thought I wanted to use their service, filled out the online form. After inputting credit card information, I changed my mind and closed the tab. They captured my CC # and charged me anyway. I IMMEDIATELY contacted them via phone, email, chat within moments of a "confirmation email" regarding my enrollment. No answer on phone or chat, had to contact them via email ONLY and told them what had happened, that I changed my mind and they would not cancel the charge or account. VERY unprofessional and frustrating. Submitted complaint to BBB for their practices.
Care.com is a website that is suppose to be helpful for busy parents; however their membership polices are not friendly to that population. You can't actually talk to anyone and all the chat tells you is what is already on their site. Such a cold way to treat customers. I will absolutely never refer anyone to this over priced site.
I was previously a caregiver. Took a year off to start a family and signed back in to look for a caregiver. I pay the fee which was on my caregiver page, when I realized I needed to sign up on a completely different page for families, I couldn't sign up due to multiple accounts. As they were fixing the problem I found local help so I simply asked for a refund I was charged on the wrong account. They refused even though it was a mistake caught right away. I tried for over a month to explain the mistake to no avail.
If I could give no stars, I would! ???? Care.com is a scam. The caretakers are not available and many do not reply. Don’t waste your money! Use Facebook groups to find a trusted caretaker.
*SCAM BE AWARE* WARNING - DO NOT USE THIS SITE! Find a company that is actually legitimate/reputable as “care.com” is far from it! They’ll take your money without authorisation from you, do not sign up!
You will need to get your cards cancelled or blocked, as they will just keep taking money from your account without your consent. They say you can close your account, But this must be done on a computer, rather than a tablet or phone. This is also UNTRUE No option exists to close your account anywhere on their site! only option available is to downgrade your account, where they will still take your money, and keep your personal details! the phone numbers they have are NON EXISTENT/DISCONNECTED! Good luck getting in contact! Expect to send emails for weeks!
IF I COULD HAVE GIVEN LESS STARS, I WOULD HAVE! This company should be ashamed of themselves targeting people in need! ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED by the way this company treats people
